Tusklins are placatable mobs that can be found in Ice Spikes biomes.
Behavior[]
Tusklins are plactable and will usually attack unless the player has fed them Brown Mushrooms.
They will attack in a similar way to Hoglins in that they will use their tusks to gore their target. If their target is running away then the Tusklin tends to give up chasing them quite early unless they are a Froststalker.
Baby Tusklins will sometimes dig up Brown Mushrooms from beneath Dirt.
Transforming Into Hoglins[]
If a Tusklin spawns or moves to The Nether then it will begin shaking and will transform into a Hoglin after 15 seconds.
The newly-created Hoglin gets Nausea for 10 seconds. This Nausea effect is purely decorative and has no effect on the Hoglins behavior.
Riding Tusklins[]
Regardless of whether or not it has been pacified, if a player uses a Saddle on a Tusklin then the player can ride on it although this can only be done for a short time as the Tusklin will soon buck off its rider.
The riding time can be increased if the Tusklin is wearing Ancient Hogshoes.
Pacifying[]
Tusklins can be pacified if the players feed them a Brown Mushroom.
Tusklins that have been fed a Brown Mushroom will not only become neutral, but they can also be bred.
Breeding[]
Tusklins can be bred with Red Mushrooms or Brown Mushrooms, but only if the breeder has previously pacified them with Brown Mushrooms.
Feeding two Tusklins some Mushrooms causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Tusklins will spawn a baby Tusklin.
Trivia[]
- The Tusklin seems to draw inspiration from the entelodonts, which are sometimes referred as Hell pigs.

"The Tusklin is the long-lost ancestor of the Nether's Hoglin, and like them is also hostile to any intruders on its territory. Found in very cold, flat biomes, this beast will attack any who approach it. However, unlike other beasts, it will not pursue attackers to far beyond the initial battle point. If close enough, the Tusklin can use its large tusks to gore or fling its victims up into the air. Although hostile, this pig-relative can be saddled, and ridden for a short time before the creature bucks off its passenger. Like their Nether-bound descendants, the Tusklins have a close relation with fungus. They can be pacified by feeding them a Brown Mushroom in a pinch, and can be bred with a Red Mushroom. Occasionally, young Tusklins can dig up Brown Mushrooms from beneath Dirt. Rumor has it that the Piglins of The Nether used to ride Tusklins into battle long ago, and forged them Hogshoes to improve the ride. These Hogshoes could also be enchanted with abilities similar to those of boots. Tusklins equipped with these Shoes could certainly be a powerful mount." |
